Two suspected copper thieves were apprehended by the federal police near Dorsten in the Ruhr area during the night. The arrest took place on a railway track section after the two individuals, a 41-year-old man and a 20-year-old woman, had allegedly cut and stolen copper cables.

The incident occurred following a disturbance report from the railway in the night. Repairs were necessary for the railway after the incident, but the federal police did not initially provide details on the extent of the damage.

Both detainees were known to the police for other offenses. The spokesperson for the federal police made the announcement about the arrest. The location of the arrest was in the northern Ruhr region, a place known for its industrial activities.

This is not the first time such incidents have occurred in the region. Copper theft from railway tracks and other infrastructure has been a growing concern for authorities, causing significant disruptions and costly repairs. The federal police are urging the public to report any suspicious activities in the area to help combat this issue.

As the investigation continues, the identities of the two suspects remain undisclosed. The federal police have appealed for anyone with information that could help in the investigation to come forward. The public is reminded to stay vigilant and report any unusual activities to the authorities.
